Brussels, 8th December 2017
The European Federation of Elevator Small and Medium-sizes Enterprises (EFESME) is glad to invite you to the launch of the SBS Lift Forum on standardisation. The event will be held on December 13th from 10 am to 1pm in Brussels, at the UEAPME premises (Rue Jacques de Lalaing, 4, 1040 Brussels).
Since the establishment of Small Business Standards (SBS), EFESME has always been at the forefront to spread and promote the think small first principle. Since this year, our Federation has been involved in the SBS sectoral approach: thanks to this project, EFESME is implementing on behalf of SBS a set of activities aimed at fostering the participation of lift SMEs in the European standardisation processes. With the establishment of the SBS Lift Forum, SBS and EFESME intend to highlight the work undertaken by the lift experts in this direction.
This year, the theme of the event will be Impact on SMEs of the latest standardisation measures for lifts. After an overview of the standardisation framework for SMEs, the Forum will focus on two topics. Firstly, we will understand how the new standards EN 81-20 and 81-50, entered into force as of September 1st, are affecting the work of the entrepreneurs of the lift sector. Secondly, we will illustrate how the Internet of Things (IoT) is applicable to the elevator industry by presenting the Task Group established this year within the ETSI Smart M2M.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to the event. For more information and registration, please do not hesitate to contact the EFESME Secretariat at email@example.com or by phone at +32 2 2307414.
The SBS Lift Forum is organised in the framework of the SBS Sectoral Approach, mandated by the European Commission and co-financed by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association.
