EFESME at the Global Elevator Exhibition 2023

This November, EFESME participated in the GEE - Global Elevator Exhibition in Milan. The event, part of the new MIBA - Milan International Building Alliance initiative, was one of four exhibitions that took place at Fiera Milano between 15 and 17 November.

In the context of the various meetings organised by MIBA to animate GEE 2023, EFESME Vice-President José María Compagni Morales participated in the panel MARKET TRENDS: The Future of Vertical Transport 2023-2033. What are the prospects for development?, which allowed him to highlight EFESME's positions and views on the future of the lift and vertical transport sector over the next ten years.

The topic is important for the lift sector as a whole, but especially for its SMEs, which are facing the challenges of new technologies, and which are learning new skills in order to be able to work at their best and confirm themselves as the backbone of the European economy also in the lift sector.

Once again, digitalisation, its potential and its risks were central themes in discussing the future of the lift industry in the years to come. All new technologies are rooted in and based on the digital world, so it is becoming more and more necessary to understand how to go about it and how to make the most of it in order to work to the best of one's ability. These new technologies, digital and remote, have enormous potential for European lift SMEs and their creativity in developing and operating state-of-the-art installations.

GEE 2023 was also an opportunity to meet professionals from other sectors, such as architects, engineers, and IT experts, who were visiting the other MIBA exhibitions and interested in the lift sector.
