EFESME congratulates Maltese MEP Roberta Metsola on her election as President of the European Parliament.

The period that President Metsola is facing is certainly not an easy one, between the continuing pandemic with its consequences and the economic recovery within the Union. Such recovery must benefit everyone, citizen and businesses alike, including SMEs in all sectors, as they are the backbone of the European economy.

In this context, EFESME wishes President Metsola all the best in her work to build a strong and cohesive Europe to support citizens and where businesses and their workers can prosper and thrive.

In wishing President Metsola well in her activities and mandate, the Federation hopes that the pro-European spirit and ideas carried forward by former President David Maria Sassoli, for whom EFESME renews its condolences, will be continued.
