The conference of lift SMEs, under the slogan "Eliminating Barriers", which was held on 14 June in Valencia, was a success in all respects:

The associated companies of the Valencian Community created the Association of Lift SMEs of the Valencian Community (Asociación de Pymes de Ascensores de la Comunidad Valenciana - ApymaCV), which joins the rest of the autonomous associations of FEPYMA.

The current situation of the legal and technical regulations affecting our activity was discussed.
In addition to mentioning the new developments in relation to the new ITC, thanks to the collaboration with EFESME and SBS, we were able to share the current situation of the technical standards. Special mention was made of the new ISO 8102-20 on cybersecurity in lifts and escalators, which will be published soon.

In addition to legal and regulatory barriers, fiscal and commercial barriers were discussed. Recently, we have received the report requested from a law firm on the issue of reduced VAT and abusive prices of spare parts. A special meeting will be convened to discuss the conclusions of the report and the measures to be taken.

At the round table, which included the president of the Association of Property Administrators of the Valencian Community, a builder and an architect specialising in refurbishments, the competitive leading position of lift SMEs in terms of accessibility, refurbishment and renovation of existing lifts was highlighted.
This leading position is demonstrated by the growth in sales and profitability of SMEs compared to multinationals. On the other hand, the representative of SME lift companies who participated in the round table defended partial replacements against complete replacements based on reasons of savings for customers and environmental protection.

Finally, the conference sponsor Mr. Carlos Silva talked about his product range and showed live the lift maintenance portal, a proposal that helps SME lift operators to face technological challenges with confidence.

During the coffee break and at the final cocktail, FEPYMA associates and sponsors, speakers and invited companies were able to exchange opinions.

The day was closed by the President of FEPYMA, thanking the speakers and Carlos Silva for their collaboration and inviting the attendees to participate in the next conference to be held in Tenerife on 17 November.
